A state shape and the following instructions are coming home today. We will be doing lots of things in class to study the regions of the United States! Have fun learning about your state.

Decorate your state shape with these things:

• The Title

• Its capital

• One major body of water that’s in your state

• One major highway that’s in your state

Then, find out the following about your state and present it to your class. Some ideas for presenting your project: Power Point, prezi.com, trifold poster boards, written report with pictures, voki.com, slide.com with an oral presentation. If you choose an electronic method, have your parent email your project to me and save it on a flash drive.

Your project must include AT LEAST the following, Please feel free to add other interesting facts.

• 3 important landmarks or historical sites. Each landmark or site must have pictures and a brief explanation.

• 2 natural resources or important exports. Include 1 explanation of how the resources/exports are used.

• Capital and governor of your state.

• Label and draw or put a picture of the state bird, state flag, and state flower.

The purpose of this project is for you to learn as much as you can about your state. You will be sharing with your class. Your presentation should last no longer than 7 minutes. Be creative and have fun!
